Biography

Prof. Ahmad Fauzi Ismail holds a BSc in Petroleum Engineering, MSc in Chemical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and PhD in Chemical and Process Engineering from University of Strathclyde, UK under the Association of Commonwealth Universities Scholarship. He is the Founder and Head of Advanced Membrane Technology Research Center (AMTEC), UTM, Malaysia.
Currently he is the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research & Innovation), UTM. He has over 17 years experience in the development of membrane technology for reverse osmosis, nano-filtration, ultrafiltration, membrane contactor and gas separation. The development of nanofibers and carbon nanostructured materials for energy related application is also of special interest. He is the author of over 100 refereed publications. He has also authored 2 books, 7 book chapters and 2 edited books.
He has won over 60 awards and one of the outstanding awards is the ASEAN Young Scientist Award in 2001.
